Please do not take any of the following items 48 hours before the test. However, CONTACT YOUR PHYSICIAN SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY RESERVATIONS ABOUT DISCONTINUING ANY DRUG.
Antibiotics: Gentamicin, Streptomycin
Anticonvulsants: Klonopin (do not stop taking for anxiety), Dilantin, Librium, Librax, Tegretol (carbamazepine), Nembutal
Antidepressants/Sedatives: Ativan, Elavil, Lithium, Pamelor, Placidyl, Prozac, Valium, Xanax
Antihistamines/Decongestants: Allegra, Benadryl, Chlor-Trimeton, Claritin, Seldane, Sudafed, Zyrtec, Xyzal, Over-the-counter cold remedies
Anti-Nausea Medicine: Dramamine, Compazine, Bonine, Marezine, Votrol, Phenergan, Thorazine, etc.
Anti-Vertigo Medicine: Anti-vert, Meclizine, Ru-vert, Transderm Scop patches, Vontrol, Transderm Scop patches – must be off for 5 days prior to testing.
Narcotics & Barbituates: Phenobarbital, Codeine, Demerol, Dilaudid, Perdocan, Percocet, Phenaphen, etc.
Sleeping Medications: Ambien, Dalmane, Doral, Halcion, Lunesta PorSom, Restoril, Seconal, Unisom
Stimulant Medications: Amphetamine, Ritalin
Tranquilizers: Valium, Librium, Atarax, Equanil, Miltown, Travel, Serex, Etrafon, Ativan, etc.
Other Medications: Alcohol (beer, wine, liquor, or cough medications containing alcohol) Methadone, NSAID, Quinine, Salicilates – Aspirin
**ANTI-EPILEPSY AND ANTI-PSYCHOTIC MEDICATIONS, AS WELL AS MEDICATIONS FOR DIABETES, HYPERTENSION, OR HEART DISEASE SHOULD NOT BE DISCONTINUED!!
